Recent reports showed that Psoralea Fructus extract (PFE), and one or more of its active components, have inhibitory effects on neuroinflammation [5] and some key enzymes of the central nervous system (CNS), such as monoamine oxidases [6], acetylcholinesterase (AChE) [7], and β-secretase (BACE1) [8], which may partially account for their beneficial effects in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) [9] and Parkinson’s disease (PD) models [5,10]. This evidence concerns the gene ACHE and Alzheimer disease.
