UHRF1 has been shown to be overexpressed in various types of lung cancer, which can be useful for diagnosis of lung cancer in all pathological stages.25 Through maintaining the promoters of tumour suppressor genes in a hypermethylated state, UHRF1 inhibits their expression at a transcription level and promotes the proliferation of NSCLC.26 Consistent with the expression pattern of UHRF1, we found that WDR79 was overexpressed in NSCLC. The gene discussed is WRAP53; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
