PRKAA1 and hyperlipidemia: Furthermore, the plasma levels of triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) were significantly increased by 34 and 39% in HFD-fed AKO mice, respectively, but not in chow-fed AKO mice (Table 1), indicating that adipocyte AMPK deletion aggravated the development of hyperlipidemia under HFD stress.
