Since MACVAC was conducted, enzyme-targeted BRAF inhibitors and monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitors, have become standard therapies for patients with metastatic melanoma, and are associated with improved survival [3, 7] Based on their complementary mechanisms of action, there is a good rationale for combining vaccines that present autologous TAA with these newer agents [34, 35].
