Polycaprolactone-tricalcium phosphate (PCL-TCP) scaffolds wrapped with induced mineralized osteoblast sheets were devised for co-culture with PC cells, revealing the compatible colonization of PC cells onto engineered bone with metastasis-associated molecules, such as MMPs, prostate specific antigen (PSA) and steroidogenic enzymes.90 When PC cells were pre-embedded in hydrogel to synthesise the PCL-TCP scaffold, engineered bone decreased the ingrowth of PC cells. The gene discussed is KLK3; the disease is pachyonychia congenita.
