MAPT and tauopathy: This implies that variation in tau protein aggregates is associated with different brain regions in different neurodegenerative disorders.114, 115 Mostly, tau pathology has been extensively studied as an “inter-disease phenomenon” shown in tauopathies including AD, frontotemporal dementia with Parkinsonism linked to chromosome-17, progressive supranuclear palsy, Pick’s disease, and cortico-basal degeneration.116–119 With the advancement in tau imaging ligands, it has been feasible to visualize different entities of tau aggregates in living patients with tau pathology.
