Our analysis showed that the values of area-under-the-curve (AUC) of 9 lectins (HPA, WGA, AAL, PHA-L, BBC, SSA, MNA-M, Con A, PHA-E) binding to CEA were greater or equal to 0.7, which suggested that these lectins have moderate accuracy for detecting CRC tumor tissues from tumor-adjacent normal tissues. This evidence concerns the gene CEACAM5 and colorectal carcinoma.
