Considering that MITF is amplified in ~20% of melanomas (Garraway et al, 2005), no drug is available in clinics that would directly target this transcription factor, and its expression correlates with CDK2 in melanoma patients (Fig 6B and C), our work would suggest a rationale for stratifying patients with MITF amplification/overexpression and treating them using a dinaciclib‐based therapy, rather than a Hsp90i treatment.
