The mutation rate of TP53 was quite similar between ESCC (93%) [11] and ESC (100%) (Fig. 1a), but much higher than the reported 73% in gynaecological carcinosarcoma, which is also a mixture of both carcinomatous and sarcomatous components with gynaecological origin [14]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
