Early-onset generalized torsion dystonia (DYT1) is an autosomal dominant movement disorder, commonly caused by a GAG base-pair deletion in the TOR1A gene coding for torsinA protein, without gross brain structural defects or other detectable neuropathology (Ozelius et al., 1997; Ledoux et al., 2013). Here, TOR1A is linked to early-onset generalized limb-onset dystonia.
