In addition to AD, misaggregated tau is implicated in a range of other tauopathies (e.g. progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), and tau variants of frontotemporal dementia (FTD)), and a tau radiotracer can be expected to have similar impact in all of these disorders (for reviews of the role of tau in AD and non-AD tauopathies, see: Iqbal et al. 2005, 2010, 2016). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is corticobasal degeneration disorder.
