Within the detection panel of cytokines measured, macrophage-inflammatory protein-1α/CC chemokine ligand 3 (MIP-1α/CCL3), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), Eotaxin-1/CeC motif chemokine 11 (CCL11) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) were found to be significantly down-regulated in primary ITP patients (Table 2, Fig. 4a–d).
