The most common genes attributed to Alzheimer's disease are the amyloid precursor protein (APP), apolipoprotein E (ApoE), and presenilins 1 (PS1) and 2 (PS2; Price & Sisodia, 1998; Shimohama, 2000; Thomas, Thomas C, Radcliffe, & Itsiopoulos, 2015; Dominguez & Barbagallo, 2016; Loffler, Flunkert, Temmel, & Hutter‐Paier, 2016; Canerina‐Amaro et al., 2017; Dong, Gim, Yeo, & Kim, 2017; Li et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene APP and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
