In 2002, Kyogoku first demonstrated the correlation of FcγRIIB-I232T with the susceptibility to SLE in Japanese (Kyogoku et al., 2002a), while the epidemiology studies of FcγRIIB-I232T in the context of autoimmune diseases sprung up in the years to follow. This evidence concerns the gene FCGR2B and autoimmune disease.
