Then, we also detected the expression of WBP2 in several different tumor cell lines including breast cancer (MDA-MB-231 and MCF7), gastric cancer (SGC7901), glioma cells (U87 and U251), and in a strain of normal cells, gastric epithelial cells (GES-1), and found that WBP2 protein and mRNA levels were upregulated in the highly invasive tumor cells MDA-MB-231, SGC-7901, U87, and U251, in comparison with the less invasive cell lines MCF7 and normal cell line GES-1 (Fig. 1b-c). Here, WBP2 is linked to breast cancer.
