VCE-004.8 clearly induced the expression of erythropoietin (Epo, p < 0.001 and p = 0.0018 VCE-004.8 vs untreated) and vascular endothelial growth factor (Vegfa, p = 0.0026 and p = 0.0117 VCE-004.8 vs untreated), which have a significant role in MS, and also the expression of other MS relevant genes such as adrenomedullin (Adm), plasminogen activator, urokinase (Plau), angiopoietin-like 4 (Angptl4), glucose transporter 1 or solute carrier family 2 member 1 (Slc2a1), and N-myc downstream regulated 1 (Nrdg1). This evidence concerns the gene ANGPTL4 and myeloid sarcoma.
