Since most of the serious adverse events (SAE) to ceritinib treatment are GI toxicity related, a multicenter, randomized open-label study ASCEND-8 evaluated the safety profile of ceritinib at lower doses (450 mg or 600 mg) taken daily with a low-fat meal compared to 750 mg daily in fasted patients with ALK-positive NSCLC [113]. This evidence concerns the gene ALK and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
