A role for Wnt signaling in the control of stem cells and cancer stem cells has been well established and previously reviewed [15,74,75,76,77], and the literature reviewed above supports an indirect role of PP2A in regulating stem cells through its modulation of Wnt signaling, yet few studies have looked at Wnt-independent regulation of stemness and self-renewal by PP2A. The gene discussed is PTPA; the disease is cancer.
