Based on the hypothesis that Gas5 contributes to the formation and development of growth plate cartilage through the regulation of miR-21 and its targets, dexamethasone (Dex), which is known to be a steroid with the comparative biological potency of glucocorticoids (GCs) and which is widely used in children and adults with allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders, was selected for use in this study [17]. This evidence concerns the gene GAS5 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
