A recent study revealed that cultured human MCs do not express receptors for either calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) or pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP), the two neuropeptides most commonly associated with migraine, but rather express and release PACAP upon activation (Okragly et al., 2017). The gene discussed is ADCYAP1; the disease is migraine disorder.
