The results indicated that T2DM rats had notably higher serum concentrations of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), total cholesterol (TC) and triglycerides (TG), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP) and resistin compared to normal rats. Here, RETN is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
