Intracellular lipids are recognized to ligate several immune receptors by TLRs and subsequently induce inflammatory activity and inflammatory gene transcription, resulting in the production and secretion of cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) [25], which are overexpressed in the adipose tissue of obese mice providing the first clear link between obesity and induced metabolic disorder [26]. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is metabolic disease.
