Western blots using antibodies specific to phosphor-isoforms of Akt and 4EBP1 identified increased phosphorylation of Akt at residue S477 and decreased phosphorylation of 4EBP1 at residues Thr37/46 and Thr70 in NASH versus normal livers (Fig. 3g & h).
