NPPA and infection: To achieve a systemic infection, zebrafish larvae (3-dpf) were injected in the dorsal caudal aorta (Figure 4A) with 10,000 to 20,000 cells of mCherry-labeled Kp RYC492, Kp BAA-1705, Kp 700603, and E. coli DH5α (the latter as a non-pathogenic bacterial control previously validated in this host model; Varas et al., 2017a), or with PBS as an injection control.
