The emergence of Kpp ST25 as a cause of outbreaks of septicaemia in pigs in England is supported by the consistent detection of this strain in all outbreaks since 2011, and its absence from archived porcine Kpp isolates dating back to 1993 and from all but one of the CNDA Kpp isolated since 2011. This evidence concerns the gene KRT10 and bacterial infectious disease with sepsis.
