A number of studies have shown that EMAP-II is a tumor suppressor, for example, in fibrosarcoma (Haridas et al., 2008), pituitary adenomas (Bottoni et al., 2007), pancreatic cancer (Awasthi et al., 2010, 2011, 2013), gliomas (Liu et al., 2015). The gene discussed is AIMP1; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
