Most experimental pathological models studied in EC-MR KO mice, show protection conferred by the EC MR towards endothelial dysfunction (i.e. a shift in balance between relaxing and contracting factors leading to altered vessel contractility) as evaluated by impairment of acetylcholine-induced endothelial-dependent vasodilation [21–23]. The gene discussed is NR3C2; the disease is endothelial dysfunction.
