PDPN and melanoma: The sensitivity of detection of lymphatic invasion can be increased using immunohistochemistry, ranging from 16 to 33% with D2‐40 (podoplanin) 12, 13, 14, 16, and ranging from 37 to 43% with dual staining for D2‐40 and S‐100 17, or D2‐40 and MITF 16, which makes it easier to distinguish melanoma cells from hematopoietic cells within lymphatic vessels.
