This was in agreement with a diminished amount of cancer stem cells markers OCT4 and Nanog [33] (Figure 3E), while a high expression of the colon cancer stem cell marker CD133 and Nanog were detected by immunofluorescence staining of tumorspheres, as expected for their high amount of stem cells (Figure 3D). This evidence concerns the gene PROM1 and malignant colon neoplasm.
