Interestingly, the virulent C. glabrata Δchs1 strain reduced the expression of MBL-C, TLR-2, and TLR-9, while C. glabrata Δchs3 increased the expression of these receptors as colitis developed, indicating that the cell wall of C. glabrata Δchs3 is rich in α-mans, which are potential ligands for MBL-C and TLR4.
