Interestingly, although AFAP1-AS1 has not been linked to TNBC previously, it has been reported to be highly expressed and to predict poor prognosis in various types of cancers, including Barrett’s esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma [9, 10], pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma [11], lung cancer [12, 13], nasopharyngeal carcinoma [14], hepatocellular carcinoma [15, 16], and colorectal cancer [17]. The gene discussed is AFAP1; the disease is lung carcinoma.
