Based on this study and analyses for endometrial and ovarian cancer, we recommend follow-up of interactions between acrylamide intake and genetic polymorphisms in CYP1B1, CYP11A1, the HSD3B1/B2 gene cluster, CYP2E1, GSTs, hOGG1, AKR1C1, NQO1, GPX1, XPC and MGC12965, and additional research on the possible effect of acrylamide on progesterone metabolism in humans. This evidence concerns the gene GPX1 and ovarian carcinoma.
