Since there is an intimate connection between G6PD and redox homeostasis, and it is well established that cisplatin treatment could induce ROS accumulation, thereby disrupting intracellular redox system in cancer cells, we hypothesized that inhibition of G6PD sensitizes A549/DDP cells to cisplatin through blocking the antioxidant ability of A549/DDP cells, finally weakening the resistance.
