CD4 and hereditary elliptocytosis: The infiltration of CD4+ T lymphocytes increased in SH2 patients to 12 ± 3 cells/mm (p < 0.005) and decreased thereafter with the grade of liver disease, reaching 9 ± 1 cells/mm in SH3 patients (p < 0.05); 5 ± 1 cells/mm in cirrhotic patients and 6 ± 1 cells/mm in patients with HE (Fig. 4G).
