BCL2 and cancer: Apoptosis is regulated by Bcl-2 family proteins which are characterized by the presence of Bcl-2 homology (BH) domains in their structure.[23] Bcl-2 family proteins are classified into proapoptosis and antiapoptosis subfamily members.[24] A number of previous studies have reported that curcumin inhibits MCL-1 in cancer cells.[25,26] We here showed that curcumin also effectively repressed the expression of MCL-1 in HemECs.
