PIM3 and cancer: The proviral integration site for moloney murine leukaemia virus (Pim) kinases, consisting of Pim‐1, Pim‐2 and Pim‐3, are active serine (S)/threonine (T) kinases that are constitutively expressed and are involved in the control of cell cycle, proliferation, and survival of normal and cancer cells.18 Due to the oncogenic/pro‐survival role in cancer biology, Pim kinases are recognized an interesting target for anti‐cancer therapy.
