EPHA2 and cancer: Cancer cell lines overexpressing ephrin type A-receptor 2 were used to show efficient killing by a derivatized biotinylated IgG antibody (termed HCA-F1) directed against the ephrin type A receptor followed by reaction with a streptavidin-conjugated Saporin to produce a specific ITx that killed DU145 prostate cancer cells with an Ec50 of around 19 pM after 96 h exposure.
