Various mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease (i.e., mice carrying mutations in amyloid precursor peptide, APP, and/or presenilin, PS, as models of amyloid deposition, and Tg4510 mouse model as a model of tau deposition) have presented an improved latency for falling on Rotarod apparatus under KD without a reduction in β-amyloid or tau accumulation (Beckett et al., 2013; Brownlow et al., 2013).
