The present study indicates, that lincRNA C5orf66-AS1 might also be involved in tumorigenesis, likely by acting as (post)-transcriptional regulator of PITX1. LincRNA C5orf66-AS1 is down-regulated in esophageal squamous cell cancer and re-expression inhibits migration and invasion in vitro [51]. The gene discussed is PITX1-AS1; the disease is esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
