Lp‐PLA2 mass is significantly associated with isolated ICAS and concurrent extra‐intracranial stenosis but not related to isolated ECAS, in a stroke‐free hypertension population from North China.24 In this study, we examined asymptomatic cerebral artery stenosis (ACAS), an intermediate indicator that can remain silent for a long period before the occurrence of ischaemic stroke,25 and suggested that aberrant increase in Lp‐PLA2 mass might be associated with ACAS in a vascular disease‐free population. The gene discussed is PLA2G7; the disease is familial isolated congenital asplenia.
