Interestingly, breast cancer samples showed greater expression of the two enzymes required for 3β,5α-diHC-6O formation from 5,6-EC, i.e. ChEH and HSD11B2, than normal tissue and in analysis of breast cancer mRNA databases, overexpression of HSD11B2 and ChEH correlated with a higher risk of patient death [20]. The gene discussed is HSD11B2; the disease is breast cancer.
