Several large studies of DPP-4 inhibitors (Saxagliptin Assessment of Vascular Outcomes Recorded in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus [SAVOR], Examination of Cardiovascular Outcomes with Alogliptin versus Standard of Care [EXAMINE], Trial Evaluating Cardiovascular Outcomes with Sitagliptin [TECOS]) have not shown any cardiovascular benefit but have demonstrated safety [78–81]. Here, DPP4 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
