Metabotropic glutamate receptor 1 (GRM1) is a seven transmembrane-domain G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) that, upon activation by ligand binding, initiates signaling cascades resulting in the downstream activation of the MAPK signaling cascade, involved in cell proliferation and inhibition of apoptosis [2, 3], and the PI3K/AKT pathway [4–7], involved in tumor cell survival, epithelial-mesenchymal transition and angiogenesis [8, 9]. This evidence concerns the gene GRM1 and neoplasm.
