These results indicate that exacerbation of liver steatosis by adenoviral-mediated expression of CA-AhR in diet-induced obese mice is dependent on the expression of Pemt. Further, this exacerbation and increased expression of Pemt can be reversed by co-expression of SHP (Fig. 7d–f), suggesting that blocking by SHP of the AhR-mediated increases in PC levels and promotion of liver steatosis contributes to the beneficial effects of SHP on fatty liver. This evidence concerns the gene PEMT and fatty liver disease.
