Among the ten genes, the functions of CCND3 and BIRC5 can explain the roles of miR-195 in NSCLC cells: CCND3 encodes for cyclin D3 and is responsible for regulation of G1/S transition in cell cycle31; BIRC5 encodes survivin, which is a small inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP)32, and regulates senescence, migration, and invasion of cancer cells33, 34. This evidence concerns the gene BIRC5 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
