Meeran et al. [102] reported that treatment of breast cancer cells (MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231) with sulforaphane causes demethylation of the hTERT promoter via DNMT inhibition, thereby facilitating the binding of CTCF to the promoter site and attenuating hTERT expression and telomerase activity. Here, DNMT1 is linked to breast carcinoma.
