HTRA1 and breast carcinoma: Mammalian HtrA1 is connected to tumorigenesis [6, 7]; in particular, it is down-regulated in ovarian [8], thyroid [9], endometrial [10], and breast cancer [11], in hepatocellular carcinoma [12], and colorectal cancer [13] while its up-regulation seems to induce suppression of tumor cell proliferation and migration in highly invasive melanoma [6].
