Interestingly, we observed a lower CRC risk when PD-L1 rs2890657 interacted with the allele of the NLRC5 rs12445252, which is predicted to decrease NLRC5 expression (-0.26 and a p-value of 1.6e-7), while the interaction between the different genotype categories of PD-L1 rs822338 and NLRC5 rs289726 was more complex, implicating an increased CRC risk for genotype combinations including rs289726 alleles predicted to either increase or decrease NLRC5 expression. The gene discussed is NLRC5; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
