In A. mexicanus, high locomotor activity and reduction of sleep are described in 3 weeks old and adult CF (Yoshizawa et al., 2015; Duboué et al., 2011), and genetic or pharmacological inhibition of Hcrt signaling increases sleep duration in adult CF (Jaggard et al., 2017a). The gene discussed is HCRT; the disease is cystic fibrosis.
