To find repressors of E-selectin-dependent metastatic potentials of colon cancer cells, we first evaluated the role of miRNAs known as modulators of the inflammatory responses, namely miR-10a, miR-30a, miR-92a, miR-146a and miR-181b, in the regulation of E-selectin expression in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) using their respective inhibitors (henceforth anti-miRs), together with anti-miR-31 (positive control). The gene discussed is SELE; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
